Cable Layers Missed My House

Apologies if this appears more than once in some format but the Forum seems to have lost my previous posts as they keep disappearing from the list!  Fingers crossed this is third time lucky.. Smiley Frustrated
I'll keep this last one short - I need to get hold of somebody at a managerial level (with some actual power to do something!) who can confirm with me that the contractors in the Leeds 25 - Kippax area have definitely missed my house from both ends of the cables that have been laid so far and also tell me exactly what they intend to do about it without fobbing me off with excuses.
A member of a different contractor team in the area has confirmed 'on the gound' that we have definitely been missed and then called his boss who (what a surprise) never got back to me but trying to communicate with anybody by phone is like plaiting fog whilst herding cats - and it is costing me a fortune as nobody seems to know what's going on or who is in charge!
Can anyone help me please before the contractors leave the village with only two houses unconnected? Thank you (and apologies if you can actually see all three questions)!

Re: Cable Layers Missed My House

Yur posts are still there, you can see them if you click your profile, they were likely moved to more appropriate areas of the forum, it all depends on the reason why they were missed, if the contractors have already left then its unlikely they will return for 2 houses, are your houses new builds as in this case the local authority wouldn't have permission to grant VM the permits needed to dig it up

Re: Cable Layers Missed My House

Thanks for the reply - no we're not a new house, we're all the same semi-bungalows but things have moved on a bit.  Apparently as we are a corner house there is a shorter distance to dig if they dig straigh across the neighbouring cul-de-sac at the point they finally install the big grey junction box rather than carrying a long cable around from the other side of our house to continue the cable that reached our neighbour on the cul-de-sac.  I remain to be convinced (although a very nice contractor did show me a map which supports their explanation), but apparently once the box goes in they will also add the last bits of cable which will include our house.
Why on earth it is so bloomin' difficult to find somebody to actually give you a straight explanation though is anyone's guess!

I did suggest that there should be some photocopied bits of paper contractors could leave at households with similar issues which would say something along the lines of 'It might look like we've missed your house but we haven't'... that could save a lot of griefy phone calls from not-yet-customers! Smiley Wink

Glad to hear its looking up, just remember that once they leave it doesn't mean the service is live as other equipment needs to be installed further up the line so you might still be waiting a while before you can actually get service
