How about a minus kudos button.

A minus Kudos button could be a negative thing as people who post ludicrous posts could very quickly get into the minus kudos very quickly in just a post or two.

The forum mods are quick to remove anything rude or derogatory (bless them), so that would only leave crass or unhelpful comments. I'm sure I've made a few of those, so on the whole I'm quite happy there is no minus Kudos button. And since no one else would do such a thing, is there really any further need?

I for one would abuse the minus Kudos button, i give lots of Kudos for good posts - regardless of any benifit I might get.

but rest assured i would minus all the post from folks who can't be bothered to read the answer to their issue in the threads or two below the one the have written - drives me mad lol

How about a separate button for "unhelpful" rather than minus.
That way posters would accumulate both Kudos and unhelpful giving a more balanced indication and avoiding "bad tempered" adjustments.
