To implement IPv6 to end users properly ISP's are at the very least going to have to allocate each user a /64 block otherwise some of the aspects of IPv6 will be broken. Seeing as how long it's taken to VM to transition from r30 to r36 firmware on the SH, one would have to ask, do they already have coding in the works to allow it to pick up and allocate IPv6 addresses.
If not then I can see IPv6 rollout being pushed back to 2013 (al least) to allow the new firmware to be written.

Well this issue is even more important now. RIPE are now on their last /8 IPv4 address block. Once that is gone there will be no more IPv4 addresses available for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.

Earlier in this thread, Virgin Rep 'Aaron_G' stated quite clearly (bearing in mind he posted this in June 2012), that IPv6 access would be enabled for customers in 2012.
Could someone from Virgin please update us as to how their plans are proceeding to bring this facility to users? At present, there are now 4 million IPv6 domains - which essentially means there are a whole load of internet services that Virgin Media customers are being denied access to.
I think the time has come for Virgin Media to recognise that we -your customers- expect to receive full internet access, not partial access, and particularly not when that partial access comes as a result of your own unwillingness to invest.
As a business, Virgin Media has trumpeted many times the benefits of it's fibre optic network, which implies they see superior technology as a selling point. IPv6 can also be considered a superior technology, and therefore it should fit with Virgin Media's strategy to ensure such a thing is adopted, and rolled out to customers.
