i was on Mac OS 10.7 and have just upgraded to 10.8, does any one have any ideas when this app will be available for a Mac OS past 10.5? I have been waiting for a while now to use this service but still there is no news about how it is going to be developed so Mac users can actually use it.
Thanks

Well, to be a bit pedantic this app will never be developed for Mac as Virgin are dropping it and changing to something new from a new supplier (sometime this year apparently, but that was announced in February!).
As for whatever backup service replaces it, then I'd hope VM take account of the Mac users out there and pick a product from a supplier that does support Mac.

Hi newtoj,
The backup and storage application should work on 10.6 as far as I'm aware, please see here.
Note: The Backup App is not currently compatible with Mac OS Lion v10.7 - however you can still use the online storage and photo service.
As it is currently not compatible with 10.7, then I would assume it's not compatible with 10.8 either. I'm not aware of any plans to update the program to work with 10.7 & 10.8 as this moment in time.

There really shouldn't be an issue with well built software and any OS you like.
Adobe have their AIR platform which works across most devices and their EDGE platform will replace the insecure Flash.
Although the desktop world is pwned by Windows, the web has gone mobile - even at home.
iPad + VM = ?
Android + VM = ?
Windows8 won't be a seamless transition either, so expect more headaches from more people in the near future.
