Restart VStuff after OS upgrade

Is there any way that I can 'save' my files selections from the 'old' OS and then restore them to the 'new' OS? Or maybe even obtain a hard copy of the selections?

Re: Restart VStuff after OS upgrade

Hi puffin01,

As the filenames and directories would be different on a new OS you would need to select the files again.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,

Re: Restart VStuff after OS upgrade

puffin01,

Assuming you mean that once you re-install B&S you want to have the exact same set of files selected for backup in the application, then the answer is "no" I'm afraid there's no way to transfer the selections from one installation to another.

In fact it fairly regularly crashes and completely forgets the settings I have made so I've put together my own simple text file as an aide-mémoire when I have to set it up again - I suggest this would probably be your best way forward.

As for getting it to resume on the same backup set in your new installation, try my description here on how to resume a backup:

Good luck,

It also might be worth you monitoring/subscribing to this thread where someone has asked VM if there is a config file as part of B&S that keeps the file selections:
