Ok ok you got me !!!

One hour 30 minutes to delete 350 mb of online storage, and not a chance in hell of recovering the 10gb of pictures I stored for safe keeping (unless I want to tick each pic individually and download) !!!

Mwhahahah you got me !!!!!

Re: HAHHAHAHA good one !!!! :)

For some reason my insert/edit image icon has vanished from the VM posting toolbar (why am I not surpised ?) so I can't display the screen

I have never done a full restore myself I'm pleased to say but if you run the Vm B&S desktop icon in the system tray, and select the restore option it looks to me as though you can restore either a file at a time, or by file type (e.g. all jpg files in your case) or everything.

I'm not sure where you concluded that you have to restore one at a time

This is the screen on Photobucket if the link is working

Re: HAHHAHAHA good one !!!! :)

Hi, yes you are correct for the 'backup' function but I deposited my files using the 'storage' feature. Although the 'backup & storage' desktop utility is named as such it is not integrated into storage in any way.

I have to download individually as I have 5000+ images stored in folders by date, which are nested inside a 'My Pics backup' folder. If I select the checkbox next to 'My pics backup' I am assuming it is waiting for the hell freezing over confirmation as I can wait and wait and wait, and yes, the icon spins but nothing happens. I am figuring it is because of the stupid 'zip before sending' feature which is fine for a few files but ridiculous for a 5000+, 10gb+ backup.

So like I said I have to enter the subfolders which are then shown by date, ticking one of these is the same so I have to open each folder to go down to file level. 5000+ times ? I dont think so.

If this was a comercial app the writer would have been serving burgers by now, the fact is VM dont want this feature working too well it would cost them a small fortune in bandwidth and storage. No they are quite happy.

Yes if they are all in Storage rather than Backup then that's a bit of a b*mmer

I don't think there is any way of moving them back into Backup either

It sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place. Neither of the two options of waiting for a 10GB zip file to generate or manually selecting 5000 files for download sounds very attractive

I think I would select the smallest sub-folder and try and zip that for download and make a note of how long it takes to zip and download. It might be feasible to do them a subfolder at a time

Yes I think you are right pal, that sounds the best option.
The thing is I actually love the idea, I just wish it worked a little better.
