I have had backup and storage running for quite a while now with no major problems.
However today there appeared to be and error, which was as follows.
Unable to execute file:
C:\Program files\VirginMedia\V Stuff Backup\Backup & Storage.exe
Createprocess failed; code 14001,
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application
may fix this problem.
Well it doesn,t, tried uninstalling fully including config files, downloading setup file again. It seems to install ok but always gives the above error when it tries to start.
This is an XP machine and has not had any changes made.
Any ideas ?

Paul9999,
See the suggestion I made here to someone else who had this problem:
http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Backup-Storage
He didn't come back to say one way or the other if it worked though!

Keith
I tried your suggestion and it didn't solve the problem, also tried removing all registry entries for vstuff, that didn't work either.

Also tried uninstalling all versions of C++, then restarted machine, downloaded C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.30319 again, installed it, restarted machine, tried installing vstuff again, still getting the same error.

Sorry mate, out of ideas then I'm afraid. ![]()
I just tried a google search for "Createprocess failed; code 14001" and, as I thought, pretty much all the links lead back to a C++ problem.
So if it isn't that I'm stuck I'm afraid - perhaps someone else can help, or VM will be able to advise when they pick up this thread in a few days?

Checked the event logs, there appears to be sidebyside errors complaining about the manifest on line 11, plus a few other ones
